Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla; Prime Minister Narendra Modi; Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Prahlad Joshi; Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Chairperson, Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Resource Development (Rajya Sabha) Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya paid floral tributes at the portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the occasion of his birth anniversary in the Central Hall, Parliament House.

Among others who paid tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose were Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, former Members of Parliament and other dignitaries. The Secretaries-General of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, Snehlata Shrivastava and Desh Deepak Verma, respectively, also paid tributes.

On the initiative of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, an exhibition of books by and on Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, available in the Parliament Library, was held in the Central Hall of Parliament House.

A Booklet containing the profile of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, were presented to the dignitaries.

The portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was unveiled by the then President of India, Dr. N. Sanjiva Reddy, in the Central Hall of Parliament House on 23 January 1978.
